Why is the heat not working on my Honda Fit?

Possible Reasons for Heat Not Working on Honda Fit
There can be several reasons why the heat is not working on your Honda Fit. Here are some possible causes based on the search results:
1. Low coolant level or air in the cooling system: If there isn’t enough coolant or there is air trapped in the cooling system, the heater core may not receive enough hot coolant to produce heat .
2. Clogged heater core: Over time, the heater core can become clogged with rust or mineral deposits, blocking the flow of hot coolant and preventing the heat from working properly.
3. Faulty thermostat: The thermostat regulates the temperature of the engine and controls the flow of coolant to the heater core. If the thermostat is faulty, it may not allow enough hot coolant to reach the heater core.
4. Dirty cabin air filter: A dirty cabin air filter can restrict airflow and reduce the effectiveness of the heater.
5. Malfunctioning blower motor: If the blower motor is not working properly, it may not blow air across the heater core, resulting in no heat.
6. HVAC control unit malfunction: A malfunctioning HVAC control unit can prevent the proper functioning of the heating system.
It is important to note that these are just possible causes and a proper diagnosis by a qualified mechanic is recommended to determine the exact issue with your Honda Fit’s heating system.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

  1. The heat control cable driving the heater flapper door was bent not allowing the door to open all the way.
Lowering the glove compartment door, turning the heat control knob I could see the lever moving and the cable driving it was bent not moving the door fully forward. I pushed it forward with my finger I was able to move it about half the full travel of the lever the heat came back when pushed fully forward.
MY opinion honda has a problem with the cable, it should be stiffer not allowing it to bend.
