Why did Subaru stop the Forester XT?
Subaru stopped producing the Forester XT for a few reasons. One of the main reasons was slow sales. The Forester XT, which was a turbocharged version of the Forester, did not sell as well as Subaru had hoped. Additionally, Subaru wanted to improve fuel mileage across its lineup, and the turbocharged XT model did not align with that goal. Subaru also wanted to base their models on a more innovative platform, known as the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), which led to redesigns for most of Subaru’s vehicles, including the Impreza and Crosstrek. Unfortunately, the Forester XT did not make the cut for the redesign.
It’s worth noting that Subaru may bring back the Forester XT in the future if sales decline for the current generation Forester. However, as of now, the Forester XT has been discontinued, and fans of the sporty model will have to look to older models if they want a turbocharged Forester.
