Toyota Tacoma Factory Location
The Toyota Tacoma is currently manufactured in two countries: the United States of America and Mexico. The only Toyota factory that still produces the Tacoma in the USA is located in San Antonio, Texas. However, Toyota is planning to move all production of the Toyota Tacoma to Mexico by 2021, with the intention to stop producing the Tacoma in Texas after 2021.
In addition to the San Antonio, Texas facility, the Tacoma is also assembled at the Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California facility in Tijuana, Mexico and the Guanajuato, Mexico plant.
The decision to move production to Mexico is part of a restructuring effort to improve the operational speed, competitiveness, and transformation at Toyota’s North American vehicle assembly plants based on platforms and common architectures.
It’s important to note that Toyota claims that this shift will result in no loss of jobs in the United States.
