Where Toyota Camry engines are made
Toyota manufactures engines for the Camry in several locations worldwide. The main engine plants that supply Camry engines include:
– United States: Huntsville, Alabama; Buffalo, West Virginia; Georgetown, Kentucky
– Japan: Shimoyama Miyoshi, Aichi; Kamigo Toyota, Aichi; Kanda Miyako, Fukuoka
– Brazil: Porto Feliz, So Paulo
The Georgetown, Kentucky plant in the US, known as Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, is a major production facility for Camry engines. It produces the 2.5L 4-cylinder, 3.5L V6, and hybrid electric engines used in many Camry models. These engines may then be shipped to other Toyota assembly plants worldwide for installation in Camrys.
While some Camry production has moved overseas, many Camrys sold in North America still have engines produced at Georgetown. So in summary – though Toyota has engine plants in several countries, a significant portion of Camry engines come from the US, Japan, and Brazil.
