Where Chevy Bolt Parts are Made
The Chevy Bolt is made in GM’s Orion Assembly Plant in Michigan for the final part of its assembly. However, the battery, motor, and drive unit are all made in Incheon, South Korea. While the final assembly takes place in Michigan, only about 20% of its parts are actually manufactured on U.S. soil. The Orion Assembly Plant received a $160 million upgrade to be able to assemble the Bolt, and this subcompact hatchback is assembled on the same line as the Chevrolet Sonic.
In summary, the Chevy Bolt’s final assembly takes place in Michigan, but the battery, motor, and drive unit are all made in Incheon, South Korea.
