Dodge 600 Production Period
The Dodge 600 was produced by Dodge from the 1983 to 1988 model year. It was offered in sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles and was powered by a selection of naturally aspirated or turbocharged inline four engines.
The Dodge 600 was intended to be Dodge’s answer to the European sedans of the day and was designed to evoke thoughts of Mercedes-Benz models, although it fell more in line with North American contemporaries such as the Chevrolet Celebrity, Pontiac 6000, and the Ford Fairmont.
The coupe and convertible variants of the Dodge 600 were produced for 2 years until 1986, and the sedan remained in production until the summer of 1988 [[9]].
In 1985, several changes were made to the 600, including the sedan being moved to a longer wheelbase and the addition of a turbocharged version of the 2.2 L engine as an option, providing a much-needed increase in power output.
The Dodge 600 was a mid-size car that replaced the Dodge 400 and was also offered under the names Volare E By Chrysler and European Chrysler Dart .
Overall, Dodge produced around 230,000 units of the 600 sedan, 37,700 units of the coupe, and 41,200 units of the convertible.
