Chevrolet and OBD2
Chevrolet vehicles transitioned to OBD2 in the year 1996, when it became a standard on vehicles produced from that year onwards. Prior to 1996, Chevrolet vehicles used the OBD-1 system. The OBD2 system provides complete monitoring and control of the engine and other vehicle devices, and the OBD2 port is utilized as a self-diagnostic and reporting tool of the engine ECU.
