We bought our 2000 Toyota ECHO as a pre-owned vehicle (with under 100 miles) in 2002 for $12,000 out-the-door. It now (2009) has almost 160,000 miles, and we have had virtually no problems. It’s a manual transmission and gets nearly 37-40mpg (even around town and with A/C running)!
