Models of Chevy in 1942
In 1942, Chevrolet offered three different models: the Master Deluxe, the Special Deluxe, and the Fleetwood. However, the most popular Chevy model that year was the 1942 Chevrolet Special DeLuxe Fleetline Aerosedan, a two-door fastback. This model featured three stainless-steel “speedlines” on the front and rear fenders, which identified it as Chevy’s top trim level. A total of 61,855 units of the 1942 Chevrolet Special DeLuxe Fleetline Aerosedan were produced during the short model year.
Please note that production of civilian passenger cars at Chevrolet ended early in 1942 due to World War Two and did not resume until the 1946 model year.
