Ford F-250 Windshield Recall
The Ford F-250 windshield recall is related to a specific issue with the windshield wipers. Ford is recalling nearly 653,000 trucks and SUVs, including the 2020-2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck, 2020-2021 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs, and 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks, because their windshield wipers may suddenly stop working or even detach. The problem is due to a poorly made part in the wiper assembly that can fail prematurely, especially in cold weather where the wipers may have to push through snow and ice. There have been 754 reports of wiper failures on the recalled vehicles, but no crashes or injuries have been reported.
The affected vehicles include the 2020-2021 Ford F-150 pickup trucks, 2020-2021 Ford Expedition SUVs, 2020-2021 Lincoln Navigator SUVs, and 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks. The problem is that some wiper arms splines may strip during use, preventing them from engaging with the wiper motor due to a manufacturing defect.
Dealers will replace both front windshield wiper arms free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2022, and remedy parts are expected to be available in the 3rd Quarter of 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
In addition, Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F250, F350, F450, and F550 vehicles due to a low power condition in the driver and front passenger door module, which may affect the anti-pinch function of the windows. Dealers will update the software free of charge.
It’s important for owners of the affected vehicles to stay informed about the recall and take the necessary steps to address the issue for their safety and the safety of others on the road. If you own one of the affected vehicles, it’s recommended to contact Ford customer service for further assistance.
