The Acura ZDX is based on the MDX and Honda Pilot SUVs. However, the new 2024 Acura ZDX is built on the BEV3 electric vehicle platform of the Chevrolet Blazer EV. It is a product of a partnership between Acura parent company Honda and General Motors, and it utilizes GM’s Ultium battery. The ZDX will be manufactured alongside the Cadillac Lyriq SUV at GM’s Springhill, Tennessee assembly plant. The base A-Spec model of the 2024 ZDX will have a rear-mounted electric motor driving the rear wheels, and all-wheel drive will be optional with a second motor. The ZDX Type S, the high-performance variant, will feature a performance-tuned dual-motor AWD powertrain.
