RCTA stands for Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It is a safety feature found in Lexus vehicles that helps drivers when reversing by detecting approaching vehicles in difficult-to-see areas behind the vehicle. When an approaching vehicle is detected, RCTA alerts the driver using a buzzer and indicator in the relevant door mirror. This feature is designed to assist the driver in checking areas that are not easily visible when backing up, such as when exiting a parking space or driveway. RCTA is part of the Lexus Safety System+, which is a suite of class-leading safety equipment included in every Lexus vehicle.
