What is the Ford Sensing System?

Reverse Sensing System:
The Reverse Sensing System uses sensors in the rear bumper and a warning sound to alert the driver of obstacles behind the vehicle. It is active when the transmission is in reverse and the vehicle speed is less than 3 mph. This system is designed to help drivers become more cautious and safe while backing up, preventing collisions and expensive car damage .
Side Sensing System:
The Side Sensing System is an enhancement to the Forward and Reverse Sensing systems. It uses sensors on the front and rear bumpers to detect the closest object to the vehicle. It provides a visual diagram display on the touchscreen with red, yellow, and green highlights to indicate the distance of detected objects. This system is active when the transmission is in any position other than Park and turns off when the vehicle speed reaches 5 mph.
