Ford Guard Mode
Ford Guard Mode, now known as Ford SecuriAlert, is a heightened-security system available on Ford vehicles equipped with the FordPass Connect on-board modem and compatible with the FordPass Pro smartphone app. It provides real-time monitoring and alerts drivers, owner operators, and small fleet managers of potential security breaches within their vehicles.
When activated, Guard Mode detects activities such as vehicle entry, opening of the bonnet or load compartment, engine start, and even unlocking or starting the vehicle using a key . It then sends push notifications to the owner’s smartphone through the FordPass Connect modem. This system goes beyond a conventional alarm system and offers some defense against break-ins, key theft, and relay attacks.
Guard Mode is the first feature that Ford activates with over-the-air (OTA) software updates and is progressively rolled out across the vehicle lineup . It is available on a wider range of FordPass-equipped vehicles, including passenger cars. The FordPass Pro app allows users to monitor up to five vans with one app, making it convenient for small businesses.
