About ASC on Lexus NX
The ASC (Active Sound Control) feature in Lexus vehicles is designed to adjust the sound of the engine and other systems according to the driving conditions and driver preferences. It can be activated in three different modes: Sport, Touring, and ECO.
Functionality of ASC
– In Sport mode, ASC amplifies the engine noise and gives it a more aggressive tone, enhancing the driving experience.
– In Touring mode, ASC provides a balanced sound experience, suitable for everyday driving.
– The ECO mode will be inactive when ASC is activated, as it is controlled by the same button as the ASC mode.
Controlling ASC
The ASC system can be operated using a dedicated knob labeled ASC. Turning up the knob adjusts the sound, adding a bit more growl to the driving experience. It’s worth noting that if the ASC mode is disabled, some systems will sound different than usual, which could be distracting for drivers accustomed to a certain noise level.
Additional Information
The ASC system uses a stereo component equalizer assembly to electronically generate a driving sound, and simulated engine sounds are output from the No. 1 speaker assembly.
If you’d like to experience the effect of Intake Sound Creator and Active Sound Control in action, you can visit your nearest Lexus center and request a test drive.
It’s important to note that the ASC feature is completely safe and has no adverse effects on any Lexus vehicle.
If you have any further questions about the ASC feature or any other aspect of the Lexus NX, feel free to ask!

What does ASC stand for in audio?
ASC stands for Adaptive Sound Control.
What is active sound control?
Definition. This feature enhances the driving experience for sporting drivers by providing amplified engine sounds through the audio system.
Which is better adaptive or active noise cancellation?
Active will deal with ambient noise, particularly bass. This will let mid and higher tones through. Adaptive will automatically adjust to help cancel these tones. I have a pair of both Active and Adaptive style headphones and I prefer the Adaptive.
And brake force to maintain traction now a definition for dsc dynamic stability control and again this isn’t a sport button dse builds on the features of the asc.
Why is my ASC light on?
The ASC, (automatic stability control) system is tied in with the ABS/TCS systems. THe ASC light indicates that there is a malfunction in the system. You will want to have the trouble codes read to see what area may have caused it. It would be near impossible to pinpoint the problem without the codes.
When should ASC be turned off?
Wheel spin occurs on loose surfaces, and wheel spin occurs when your rear tire looses contact with the ground (i.e. hopping along washboarded roads). You’ll want ASC off in these situations, as the system will continually cut power to the engine as it attempts to assist the tire with regaining traction.
Like other F Sport models in the Lexus lineup, the 2023 Lexus UX 250h F Sport Handling has a button labeled ‘ASC’. This stands for Active Sound Control, which plays augmented sporty engine noises through the speakers as well as artificial shift points of a traditional automatic transmission.
Can I drive with ASC off?
There is no harm in driving the vehicle in the mean time. You will be without ASC (skid control) and without ABS function, but the brakes will otherwise work normally.
Does driving with traction control off save gas?
If one or more of the tires receiving power starts to spin, the traction control system will be activated by the computer. Otherwise, the system does nothing and has no effect on gas mileage. On the rare occasions when traction control is active, it still wouldn’t affect gas mileage to any degree.
What does ASC stand for in a car?
AUTOMATIC STABILITY CONTROL (ASC)
This eliminates rear wheel spin and makes power transmission more efficient, thereby increasing active riding safety significantly in borderline situations such as when riding in the rain.
