The 1949 Ford Custom Series had two engine options:

– V 8Flat Head (3917 cc | 239.0 cu in. | 3.9 L.) with 100 HP (73.6 KW) @ 3600 RPM
The 1949 Ford was offered with a standard 226 cubic-inch inline-six engine and an optional 239 cubic-inch flathead V8. The V8 engine was also available in larger displacement versions, such as the 337 cu in (5.5 L) designed for large truck service.
