Lexus Fuel Pump Recall
Lexus has announced the addition of thousands of vehicles to an already existing recall involving defective fuel pumps. The affected vehicles include the 2018 and 2019 Lexus ES 350, GS 350, IS 300, IS 350, LC 500, LC 500h, LS 500, LS 500h, RC 300, RC 350, RX 350L, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350. The recall was due to a faulty Denso fuel pump that can allegedly crack and degrade, leading to rough engine running, engines that fail to start, and engine stalling at low speeds. The recall is expected to begin in December 2020, and owners will be notified by May 2020.
The recall has been an ongoing issue since January 2020, and it covers both Toyota and Lexus models from 2013 to 2020, affecting at least 40 models. The total number of cars being recalled at this point is around 3.34 million, and it includes nearly every model made by Toyota and its Lexus luxury brand.
