Dodge Magnum Drivetrain
The Dodge Magnum was produced as a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) station wagon from 2005 to 2008. It was based on the Chrysler LX platform and was available with both RWD and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. The AWD system in the Magnum was similar to the 4MATIC system available in most Mercedes sedans and wagons. It featured a transfer case near the passenger’s footwell that sent 38 percent of the power to the front wheels and the remaining 62 percent to the rear. Unlike many active all-wheel-drive systems that can vary the torque split in the driveline, the Dodge Magnum’s AWD system did not have this capability .
In summary, the Dodge Magnum was available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
