The Ford M151 was sold for model years 1959 to 1988, and it played an active part in US military operations for several decades. The M151A2, introduced in 1969, incorporated a much safer semi-trailing arm suspension, deep-dish wheels, larger composite-type marker and taillights, electric windshield wipers, and a mechanical fuel pump.
