How to Turn on Cruise Control on a Chevy Equinox
To turn on cruise control on a Chevy Equinox, follow these steps:
1. Locate the cruise control buttons on the left side of your steering wheel.
2. Press the top of the button to turn the system on. You will see a white icon appear in the cluster, indicating that cruise control is on.
3. Press the middle RES/+ button down to set your speed. The white icon will turn green, indicating that cruise control is set and active.
4. You can now take your foot off the accelerator and let the vehicle maintain the set speed.
Please note that cruise control should not be used on winding roads, in heavy traffic, or on wet, slippery, or icy roads, as it can be dangerous in these conditions.
If you have a properly equipped 2024 model year Equinox, you can also set an Adaptive Cruise Control speed while you’re stopped. To do this:
1. Ensure that the system is on, apply the brake pedal, and make sure the vehicle is in a forward gear.
2. Press the Set button while your foot is on the brake to turn on the feature.
3. Use the +/resume or -/Set button to change the set speed until your desired speed is displayed.
4. Take your foot off the brake, and the vehicle will hold its position. When traffic moves, press the resume button, and the vehicle will automatically accelerate to your set speed or following gap if a vehicle is detected ahead.
It’s important to note that some models may allow you to switch between Adaptive Cruise Control and regular cruise control. To switch between the two:
1. Press and hold the Cancel button.
2. Press and hold the Cancel button again.
Remember to always refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual for specific instructions and guidelines on using cruise control.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
