Ford Explorer and Hands-Free Tailgate
The 2023 Ford Explorer model has ditched its hands-free liftgate feature. This feature was part of the Limited, ST, King Ranch, and Platinum trims for the 2022 model year, but it was later removed during the 2022 production run.
The hands-free liftgate feature is designed to allow the user to open the liftgate without using their hands. It can be activated using a foot motion or by pressing a button on the instrument panel or under the liftgate handle.
It’s worth noting that the power liftgate, which is standard equipment on every 2023 Ford Explorer model, is not impacted by the removal of the hands-free liftgate feature.
