It was a captive import from Mitsubishi Motors, initially being twins of the rear-wheel drive Galant and Lancer families before shifting to the smaller front-wheel drive Mitsubishi Mirage subcompacts in 1979. The production of the Dodge Colt ceased in 1994. Therefore, the Dodge Colt is no longer in production.
